What is a boiler?

A boiler is a closed vessel in which fluid is heated. The fluid does not necessarily boil. The heated or vaporized fluid exits the boiler for use in various processes or heating applications, including water heating, central heating, boiler-based power generation, cooking, and sanitation.

The inner part of the boiler consists of two parts: the fire side and the water side. All surfaces on the boiler fire side are called heat levels. All internal parts of a high pressure boiler are made of ferrous alloys. Boilers are usually made of cast iron and steel. Cast iron boilers are made to produce low pressure steam due to their lower resistance. Currently, most boilers are made of steel.
